Assessment Procedure

Collection: The process of tracing and gathering information from many sources of background information on a child such as observation, teacher reports, and parent intakes.

 

Analysis: The processing and understanding of patterns in a child's educational, social, developmental, environmental, medical, and emotional history.

 

Evaluation: This is the evaluation of a child's academic, intellectual, psychological, emotional, perceptual, language, cognitive, and medical development, from this evaluation you can determine the areas of the child's strengths and weaknesses. 

 

Determination: The determination of the presence of a suspected disability and the knowledge of the information that constitute each category. 

 

Recommendation: The educational placement and program that needs to be recommended to the school, teachers, and parents.
