1.
What is
the special need of your child?
My
child has a speech impairment.

2.
What
are your personal goals for the
education of your child?
I want my child to receive the same education and the same
opportunities
as all of the other students.
|
|||
3. What is your current relationship with the school, special
education,
and administration?
The school is always open to any questions or concerns I may have. They are not always proactive in seeking me out to give me information. There are times where they do not seemed as concerned about his education as I am. |
|||
4. How
can it be improved?
The special education department could set more personalized goals for him. They could also help him establish patterns to obtain those
goals.
|
|||
5. What form of communication is used and how often? Is this
best?
The first form of communication is always by telephone, second is mail, and third is email. Phone and email are best, because I am a busy person on the go. Again, I am the one contacting the
department,
not them contacting me.
|
|||
6.
How
often do you communicate with
the school?
Once
or twice a quarter usually,
unless I have a concern.
|
|||
7.
How
effective is the special
education program?
I have not heard any negative feedback. So as far as I can tell it is
fine.
|
|||
8.
How
flexible is the program to meet
the needs to your child?
The program and goals established for my son seem to be generic
and
not very personalized.
|
|||
9.
What problems have you had with
school?
Sometimes I receive contradictory information from different people involved in my sons education. There are times the special education teacher will say one thing, and the classroom teacher will
say
another.
|
|||
10.
Are you
part of any parent group?
No.
